If my Love were a season

If my Love were the spring time,
it would be as fresh as the
    grass, trees, and flowers,
    that newly grow.
If my Love were the summer time,
it would be as hot and as bright,
    as the hottest sun.
If my Love were the fall,
    it would be as colorful,
    as the changing leaves on
    the trees.
If my Love were the winter,
it would be as crisp, and as
new as the first snow fall.
    With you, there will always
be a new and changing Love,
    like the seasons!!!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
