    I'll be Ok

The hardships of death are least expected.
When the dead are gone longer than they were here
When detachment brings a wider view.
When the world forgets the living of one life,
Dissolving it slowly into thin air.

Then you are left with one perspective ..yours
to reflect upon the state of you.
    The gods will fall.
The cities crumble to the sea.
    and what will be left?
    What will you know?

    That death brings life.
That closing doors open new ones.
Doors to long forgotten shut off rooms.
Doors to makeshift nurseries where you are born again.
Reliving your childhood in real time
    Ushering your self into adulthood.
Coming of age on your own terms.

So who do you want to be when you grow up?
    an actor?
    a con artist?
    a martyr?
or just your own true self?

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
