    SHATTERING SPLINTERS INTO THE NIGHT
SMOTHERING EMBERS THAT HAS LOST IT'S LIGHT

SMILING FACES A LINK TO FIRST SIGHT
A HEART SO OPEN,SO FULL OF MIGHT

HAPPINESS FLYING HIGH LIKE A KITE
SADNESS ALL GONE, A WHISPER IN THE NITE

A MIND SO CLUTTER, WORDS THAT JUST MIGHT
SPEECH THAT GOES, IT HAS TAKEN FLIGHT

A BINDING SO LOOSE IT'S FEELING SO TIGHT
HOLDING ONTO SOMETHING THAT JUST FEELS RIGHT

HERE TODAY IS WHAT I HAVE IN SIGHT
BUT TOMORROW MY WORDS MAY SHED A NEW LIGHT

A child eyes! A calm soul! A grip of eternity! Depth in this! Good write!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
