    Immersion

How odd to be in this place
where you and I would come
    to watch the leaves float
    along aimlessly across
the water. Drifting in and out
of daydreams, you’d ask me to
make a wish on the sunset, as I
watched it dance across the watery
    haven. A branch submerged
begs me to wonder if the sand
of the lake bottom would welcome
my eager toes as leisurely as
    this wayward limb severed from
the tree that once sustained it,
that once gave it life, gave it roots.

This has left me breathless and melting into the water as I pull at your feet and we go under together. Can we kiss?

sounds like a special moment in time, very poetic. smiles Vincent

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
