It's 4 You

It’s 4 You

Some people ask why I write the way I do.
Coming from poverty, I say it’s all for you.
It’s for you that just make ends-meat.
It’s for you who think a trip to Wal-Mart is a treat.
It’s for you who’s Christmas tree is yarn on the wall.
It’s for you who wish to be big even though you’re small.
It’s for you who hang pictures of the famous all over your walls.
Making them richer, Christ that’s all.
It’s for you who read this poem and say damn that’s me.
It’s for all of us who look to be free.
These words are true and from my heart they do come.
It’s for you that these words will never be done.

Very well written, I love poems like this, REAL and relative.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
