    KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR

I don’t need a knight in shining armor

I’m no princess on a throne

    I don’t need a dragon slayer

I’ve slain plenty dragons on my own.

What I need, is someone to talk to

when the working day is done.

Someone to share a dream with,

maybe a daughter or a son.

    I don’t need a crown of diamonds,

just a little band of gold

and when the winter years are upon us,

                someone’s loving hand to hold.

I don’t need a knight in shining armor,

Just a little band of gold

And when the winter years are upon us

                Your loving hand to hold.

I sooo love this Patrica...another 10 for me and a fav. Yes I slain a few of those dragons myself...but I must admit, it warms me to the core to have my knight all ashinin in that loyal and faithful armor as well;)! Thanks Pat...you said it all so well. Love the last two lines and that dragon slayer line as well as the others..great courage and desire for a life companion plus independence shown here..Thank you Patrica..have a great evening.."SpiritSong"

This poem reflects the feelings of a multitude of people who find themselves staring lonliness in the face. Nice.

I liked this poem although I truely believe that sometimes ones best company is themselves. You have a unique flow to your words and really like reading your work. Good job.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
