Let Go

Poem Commentary

A verse, chorus, and bridge of an unfinished song converted into poem. I feel it speaks for itself

Let Go

Hey!  What are you waiting for?
Just take a step and make your way through the door
It won't take long and you'll see exactly the same as I

But I won't try altering your perceptions
Or attempt changing what you believe
I can only reawaken your imaginations

Left abandoned so long ago

You must let go
Cut loose the parachutes
And rip down the safety nets
They don't do a thing except slow you down

So just let go
Unhook the safety belts
And release paralyzing grips
They don't do a thing except hold you back

From achieving everything that you can
From believing in what you understand

They hold you back!

From ever fulfilling
All reoccurring dreams
In which you only hope
You can someday live within

Because in the end
You can only rely on... yourself
