Letters
Looking through old letters,
I happened to come across the first letter he ever wrote me.
Looking at his somewhat sloppy handwritten,
Tears started to flow.
Reading his words,
Opened a flood gate I can’t seem to plug.
We were so in love once.
And neither one of us could tell you what happened.
The love just left.
How I wish I could go back to that day.
When our love was brand new.
When nothing could go wrong.
Reading his words over,
Made my heart stop.
Because I knew he loved me,
But now I destroyed that love.
Mistakes have been made,
And there is no way to take them back.
Trust me, if I could, I would.
Reading his words,
Breaks my heart.
Because I know I destroyed us.
Because I was selfish.
Because I didn’t listen.
Our love is gone,
And friendship went out the window.
Reading his words,
I realize now what all I’ve done wrong.
Reading his words,
I realize how much we did love each other.
Reading his words,
My heart breaks.
Reading his words,
The tears just won’t stop.
Reading his words,
I know his deserves so much more.
