Life's recipe

Poem Commentary

I love to cook and bake. For most of my working career I worked in a small cafe. I enjoyed that job so much. It gave me an opportunity to create. I can't sing, dance, act, draw or play professional football. I can write though, which is my first love.

I wrote "Life's recipe" as a thought that food isn't always what we put in our mouths. Its about what we put in our minds and hearts.

I hope you enjoy it.

Life's recipe

Life's recipe:

a caring soul

loads of compassion

plenty of inspiration

a ton of love

good insight

lots of smiles

a helping hand

a kindred spirit

loads of laughter

a shoulder to lean on

fondness for simple things

an open mind

a willingness for change

an avid imagination

appreciation for nature

a sense of awe

courage to overcome

strength to endure

a strong desire to achieve

a will to never give up

an attitude of gratitude

play like a child

inward peace

a warm heart

rose colored glasses

patience and perseverance

let your light shine through

walk in another's shoes

become coachable

find your voice

relax and enjoy it

be a friend

listen with your heart

trust carefully

What a great recipie.....wouldn't it be great if we could adopt all of these qualities! Some of us have some but not all. Thanks for sharing.
