    Lost Memory

I find no way, no way out
Of this darkness that covers me
    And although, although I sought
Things to come, to come to me

    They are all lost,
lost in the wailing wind of sorrow
    They are all gone,
Never to see, never a tomorrow

And memories, which I clung to
    So deperately, so needily
    Are lost, not within reach
As nothing, nothing is within me

But I ask myself a question:
Is all lost what could never be?
For, are all the things I hoped for,
    Just a simple, effervescent dream?

I like the repetition. The poem is very rhythmic and thought provoking. I think this is an issue we all ponder from time to time.

Thank you so much! That was exactly what I was going for.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
