    Love Passed

                                         Yes, its true my love;
                                         I have let you down
                                         And my face betrayed a frown.

                                         Yes, my dear, I brought you pain;
                                         Silently laughing as you cried.
                                         I never sought to end your fears.

                                         Your sweet whispers in my ear;
                                         Proved to be in vain.
                                         The years swiftly wandered in despair;
                                         Alone I ask: "Will you take me back?"

    The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

    Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
