Love

Love

Pulsing, beating through me, it spreads
I feel it, the pain, the ends not here, only fear and dread,
I've been exposed, my heart, my head
so confused, so detached, but I'm not dead,

Relief won't come, only worry
the words, the feeling, eyes are blank, not starry,
feeling is gone, I am numb
the pain, the tears, what more is to come?

Desolate, alone, they leave me
the disease is here, it had all but consumed me,
my world was turned upside down
the feeling of falling, but I can't find the ground,

I can't rid myself of this curse
it won't go away, won't disperse,
the looks, the stares, they know
hospitals can't help it, on the disease will grow,

No cures or spells
can pull me out of these dark wells,
no one can save me
It's over, yet I'm lonely,

It's grown too strong
I've let it live too long,
only you can save my heart
for its the love for you that tears me apart.

very nicely done

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
