    Lover's Day

Today, I quit working on the cheddar
Today, love is on my agenda
    Today, we stop and wonder
    And pause and ponder
On how we wallowed in 'verbal sin',
Yeah, we've said words we didn't mean
    And on those sweet memories
We've had and we really miss

    Fathers, mothers and children-
    they've had their day
    it has been proven, even
    lovers need their day
today, we sit back and reminisce
on our first date, our first kiss
    and on those happy times
    in our youthful prime

Let's go somewhere off the cap
and add one more 'feather' to our 'cap'
today, no weeping for the lost and lonely
today, a day for lovers and lovers only.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
