MISS RIP VAN WINKLE
Miss Rip Van Winkle
100 Years Asleep
I will not be here when you wake
What the hell do you think I am,
Immortal?
Miss Rip Van Winkle
Who told you to take that long nap?
I was all set to party
and you took a snooze
Party Pooper!
Miss Rip Van Winkle
Lost somewhere in dreamland
I hope you find what you're looking for
lost loves, decapitated dragons, mists of moonlight
Bad Dreams?
Miss Rip Van Winkle
Did I detect a groan?
Are you emerging from your slumber?
Will you fix me coffee, bacon, eggs?
I'm hungry.
Miss Rip Van Winkle
Still, you lie there sleeping, the world goes on
Wars, poverty, hnger, crime, the return of "Desperate Housewives"
You shall miss it all in your comatose compartment
No Alarm Clock.
Miss Rip Van Winkle
I'm starting to yawn
And sometimes I envy you, not knowing
Not wanting, Almost not living
No, I want to live.
Miss Rip Van Winkle
99 Years and counting.
We will not be here this generation when you wake.
This house will be bulldozed over
But you will awake, Refreshed.
