    Mommy To Be

i didnt know i was pregnant,
but i could feel it inside.
    months went by,
    but no pads were needed.
    i called my sister,
    she gave me ride.
    "the test was positive"
    the doctor had said.
    i cried tears of joy,
    but still so scared.
    im only 16,
    but still ill try.
    sonograms were made,
i cried when i saw you.
    i couldnt help but wonder,
    a boy or a girl?
    "its a girl"
    Athena Isabella, is her name.
    i love her so much,
ill never put her through pain.
I cant wait to see you!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
