    my love

oh, my love is like a pearl
    a gem sought by many
but available to only a few
her teeth are like the stars
twinkling in a sky of black clouds
her smile is like a soft breeze
    passing over a parched land
    its like droplets of rain
on a land suffering from drought.
    when she laughs
    its like the music
    of pouring of wine
    into a goblet of crystal
like the melody of a swift running river
    over a waterfall.
    she is like the sun
    radiating warmth and light
    she is like the moon
    beautiful.
    she is like the stars
    twinkling away in delight.
these and more you to me
    MY LOVE

this poem is full of detail and lets the reader feel what the poet is trying to convey.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
