Poem Commentary

This is a poem written after kissing a new friend in Ocho Rios Jamaica I stumbled back into the hotel in a trance and as soon as I was back in Atlanta this is what I wrote while reflecting.
My first attempt at writing poetry.  All feedback welcome.

My New Groove

My New Groove

I now fully understand my new groove
I was experiencing an intimacy
that surpasses logic

And chatting about the awkwardness and differences in people
While loving life and respecting space
with a stranger

I was being a friend with the intensity of the unknown
While exploring sensualities that only exist
in the flicker of an eyelid and
the tilt of a smile

A quiet moment, a loving touch, a tender kiss
All contributed to

my new groove.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
