    New Beginnings

As the dawn arises on the horizon
the smell of a new year hits my window.
    Calmly caressing the world onto
    a path of new beginnings.

I wake up to find a bitter decade
is at the point of my vitality.
    Scattered all around the world
    as it kisses the earth.

I push from my bed and follow
the sun's rays to the door.
I force it upon and gaze
    into the frozen wasteland outside.

The sound of Jack Frost littered
that of my front lawn and drive.
Nothing has changed for the way
in which we'll live our lives.

The new year is nothing more
    but a number, an encounter.
The countdown to the end of
    which we spend our lives.

    The new year is forming
the state of mind and life.
    New beginnings or just a
    fearful start of the end?

As the dawn arises on te horizon
the smell of a new year hits my window.
Caressing the world onto new beginnigs
or the path to the fall of humanity?

An immaculate start or a treacherous
    point of the end?
The world lies at the feet of new beginnings
calmly waiting to see how fate will change her life?
