New Life
What happens when suddenly everything stops?
When you can hear and see nothing but the ticking clock.
Your running out of time,
Your life is slowly fading.
You get on your knees daily, praying, shouting Lord please save me!
But its been some time now and you think nothing has changed,
You can feel the pressure building, getting worse everyday.
You begin to turn your back on Him to go back to your old ways.
You stop and start to realize that only He can make a way,
Yes Obama said it too, but only God can create change.
You go to church one Sunday, watch the choir raise their hands,
You sit in the congregation while they sing their song and dance.
You think 'this is where I should be, but I not sure,
everytime I turn around somebody is looking at me up and down.
As the preacher calls invitation, like he usually does,
You are afraid to walk down, because you would be the first one.
Your palms become sweaty,
Your heart is beating quick.
You can feel the tears swell up behind your eye lids.
The first tear falls as you are walking down the aisle,
Your afraid to go to Him because its been a while.
The congregation begins to clap as you sit down,
You can hear the words " I was lost now Im found".
The choir sings Amazing Grace,
the tears drip and fall off your face.
The pastor stands and welcomes you,
You look up and begin your life anew.
When you can hear and see nothing but the ticking clock.
Your running out of time,
Your life is slowly fading.
You get on your knees daily, praying, shouting Lord please save me!
