One Million Tears
Come here with me and lay your sorrows atop my chest
Let me bare your painful burdens until the day I die
My arms will cloak and protect you from the demons of your past
I can be your refuge through the storm
Allow me to cleanse my soul with your tears
All the while helping you to see the silver lining around clouds of gray
Can I hold you gently as you sleep and pray that your tomorrow will eradicate shadows of today?
Can I steal a touch of heaven's sunshine and tenderly nestle it against your lips
Prompting the smile which will set the skies ablaze
Can we float away in your river of tears setting sail to happiness unknown?
Today you cried your millionth teardrop I was there to catch it
Cradling it in my heart knowing that because of love those tears will fade away
Into a distant memory of childish nightmares
All we have is our present me with you and you with me
Let us wish upon a star that joy will consume our being and the countless tears shed will become a figment of our imaginations.
