One

To be truthful one must lie
When intellegent one must play dumb
To be free one must able to let go
To be strong one must be cold and heartless
To care is a sign of one's weakness
To show compassion is to allow one's self to be used
To question is to go unanswered
One must be hated to truly love
To be loved one must act a role
Wanting is one's need to be bound
Trusting is one's need to control
Lust is one's need to persuade
Affection is one's need to manipulate
Creativity is a sign of one's insanity
Silence is the need for one to yell
Happiness is the need of one's pleasant fiction
Misery is one's need to live out that pleasant fiction
Free Spirited is one's inability to decide
Seeking is one's inability to truly see
Kindness is one's need to also be cruel
Vengence is one's need to even the odds
Angering others is one's need to motivate
Remembering is one's need to forget

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
