PathL all I must do is ask

Life continues its journey out of this place of contintment
The place that I feel safest
One more day, I ask, but you say it may be my last
So I step out onto your path
Your guidance is there you say if only I have the mind to ask
But I got caught up in so many task

Pushing forth through the pouring rain
I see the sun thinking the storm is done
I begin a new venture of disease with a cough, sneeze when I proceed
Looking for some relief from pain I see a lily beside a tree
Bending to pluck it up I discover its need to be left growing free

My journey continues as the month runs on
I manuver my way through the many difficult times
Departing from troubles I begin to find the answer to get me through
I hear my Lord after calling out His name

Following His instruction I find myself closer to the end
A much clearer path than that one over there
Which was a raging conflict from within

My health is becoming worse yet my life is beginning a bubbling burst
Joy has entered my soul despite the bitter cold

Now I know I can keep going following only Your voice down the road

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
