    Pensive

    I don't want to be a fighter
Unless you're the prize at stake
    I don't want to be a priest
because your love I cannot forsake

    I don't want to be a sailor
    Unless you command the anchor
I don't want to deposit time
    Unless you are my banker

    I don't want to be a singer
    Unless you hear my voice
I don't want to be a decision maker
but with you I have no choice

I don't want to be writer
    until you inspire my pen
    I don't want to be a historian
    unless our past repeats again

I don't want to wait in Heaven
    Hell is wherever you're not
    I don't want to be a beggar
But your love is all I've got

    I don't want to be a runner
If it put distance between us two
    I'd rather be a philosopher
    and constantly think of you...

This poem is so sweet! I like it alot

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
