    Perfect Mask

What you see before your eyes
    is a mask of lies
    she covered herself in.
    She smiles, she laughs...
    She lives.....

    Under this perfect mask
    of deniable fate...
    is a little girl.
A hurt, wounded little girl in pain.
She frowns, she weeps, and her eyes
show the emptiness in her heart.
She screams to the silent world that abandoned her...

    But nevermind that...
    You won't see that.
    How could you see it?
    Her mask covers the truth.

You will never know the truth...about me...

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
