Rhema’s Profile

Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, Deidre set out to "find" herself in 1980 when she joined the US Marine Corps. After ten years, she began a new career as an Administrative/Executive Assistant for several companies in the Chicago area. It was only 12 years ago that Deidre realized she had a writing gift. Since then, she has published a book, a song and desires to do much more. Being a very creative individual, she has been involved in various singing groups, choirs and has acted in several productions since childhood. Deidre recently received rave reviews when she portrayed Mother Willie, a feisty and funny grandmother, in the 2008 LifeLIVE Production “I Need A Breakthrough!” In 2000, Deidre joined Shekinah Glory Ministry, her church praise team, and has recorded with them several times. She has a song on their debut CD "Praise Is What I Do," entitled "I Worship You in the Spirit." In 2005, Deidre published her first book, "Fitly Spoken Words: A Book of Poetry, Prose & Powerful Revelations." She's had poems published in Gospel Synergy and Grace Today magazines. Deidre’s poetry tends to challenge, encourage and inspire the reader. Her desire is that, “…lives will be changed in a positive way.” When asked where her gifts come from, Deidre will quickly respond, “It is a gift from God without which I could not write such things.”
