I am 30 years old and have been through alot of stuff. i was raised by my brother who was only 5 yrs older than me because both of my parents were drug addicts , I was homeless at the age of 17 ( sleeping in a car in the winter is the worst) and still going to school with a child on the way, my first child was born at the age of 18 , Hooked on drugs from the age of 14 - 22 , I had 3 of my good friends pass away. My second child born at the age of 22 . Trying to support 2 chidren and my wife was extremely hard when my past kept haunting me. I started writing poetry when I was 23 it was the only way to ease the pain and stress of life. I hoped that by writing these poems they would help someone else going through hard times and that was my motivation ( To never see someone go through the struggles i had been through ) . The last 7 yrs of my life have been great. It took alot of hard work and determination but I never gave up. I wanted to be the seed that grew from nothing and I am. I have two beautiful children , a wife , a great job and a beautiful home. I am so greatfull for all of it because I know that I came from nothing. The poems that I submitted I wrote about 6 yrs ago at a very hard time in life and I hope that they will help someone get through their hard times as well. Well thats it. Enjoy.
