    Porcelian Doll

Porcelain doll, sits along a wall

So white and fair, with flaxen hair

Eyes of blue, so pure and true

Rosie red lips, with a softened smile

Corset and gown, made of lace strewn with pearls

In and out amongst satin and bows

She sits with others in a big glass case

A blank stare, no expression on her face

    Being observed day by day

Wishes she could run and play

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
