    Quiet Hero

    He stands alone within the crowd;
    His eyes are heavy and he wears a broken crown;
    No matter how they try, they can't bring him down.

    He walks alone within the crowd,
    But holds his head up high;
    Never looking back toward the end,
    His soul soars the sky.

    Locked in his soul is the key to the world;
    Locked away;
    So maybe we'll learn someday?

    Wars come and go;
    Oceans roar and flow;
    Time goes on, but stopped at zero;
    Keep in mind this quiet hero.

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
