Reach Me
I can see you all the time
Your eyes reach me
My universe exists next to yours
Our hands combine
Intersecting lines mark a path
for our feet to travel
Suddenly...I am showered with light
And you are gone
A mist fills the air
It penetrates my eyes
I hear your voice
telling me to breathe
My lungs draw in
cool, moist, and refreshing
Your essence is sweet
and it sustains me
But I am troubled
for my eyes cannot reach you
You speak to me softly
telling me to be patient
Soon your heart will know
and your pain will vanish
Because souls that have loved
will never be forgotten
