Reuniting With My Past

Poem Commentary

This Poem Was Inspired By Me Finally Talking To An Old Classmate I've Know Since I was 5 Years Old.

Reuniting With My Past

It's hard to talk to people you once knew,
facing them is like . . .
trying to get the super glue off your hands

It's hard to do, you don't know what their going to say?
your mind tells you "Just Do It"
but the other side of you says "I Don't Know"

The conversion could go anyway
they either don't remember you or
they don't want to remember you or
they have forgotten about you or
they think your stuck up or
they think your too good. . . .

But really both of you are pry thinking,
the same thing about each other. . .

Life is short, so don't let the good things pass you by,
embrace them and never let them go
but . . . but don't hold on to them too tight,
or you'll end of killing what you have or had.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
