R.I.P. Grandma Basile
When I found out the time was near
I needed to go the her as a shed a tear.
As I walked through the door
I froze for a moment feeling heartsore.
I never thought I would be the one at her bedside
To watch as she crossed over the other side.
When I was a little girl we spent most of our time
taking walks downtown to the five and dime.
She shared many good memories of my grandfather
that I hardly knew
The love they shared together was precious and true.
Through the years she never let you down
Her laugher and smile always wiped off the frown.
She devoted her life to cooking and cleaning
Secretly she also loved singing.
I always looked forward to her Sunday dinners
The Basile Family what a bunch of well fed eaters.
It is hard to say goodbye
All it does is make you cry.
My Grandmother, my best friend
She is at peace, this is the end.
Her giggling and laughter
She would all wants us to live happily ever after.
