Sackclother & Ashes

Sackclother & Ashes

Heavenly Father,

As I pray here today in my

Sackclothe and ashes,

I’m searching desperately,

For the peace that surpasses.

My strength has been crushed down

Into my many mighty lamentations.

Deep crying unto deep…

It’s a spiritual love call.

For now, I must be content with the

Love letters (scriptures) written on my wall.

Bridge, I really like this! I can relate to the feeling..I've been there soooo many times myself, but have learned to settle for less than what I truely desire. Anyway great job...have you thought of trying to publish?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
