The shepherdessShe watches, gropes for meaning, consolation -
And love...
Her hair mounted upon her shoulders
In lines both divine, and fragile
Bittersweet inches and steps
Glances and sighs does she not know?
The reasons, the reason why
He loves her so
Will she ever catch a glance of his enchantment?
The shepherdess is she
Free of longing or need
Of weakness or defeat
Nestling a crisp apple on the countryside
Sweet nectar contained within her sighs
As the sweet breeze flows from out the trees
He relieves her worry
For she he will hurry, with love, with long-held reflection and relief
In the way she relays her soul spirit and the endless depths beneath
Under the sun and the moon both alike as young and old
In the light or twilight he will hold, caress
Upon her loving lips and sainted head
With kisses outlasting loneliness
Her lover eternal, soul complete
The light of her heart contained within his song so sweet
"Baby lie, don't cry, or worry as the day will pass
For I will love you, love you til' the last."
The sheperdess, sweet angel, mother and daughter
Friend and lover both the same
A special prize for those whose eyes allow truth
A blessing in all of her pride, glamor and youth
The shining streaking stars in the the blackest of night skies
"How could one not fall in love with you?"
