Poem Commentary

I wrote this poem after a fight in a parking lot, over a parking spot.(note: three empty spots on either side of where I parked, and somebody said," I took his spot", there was a fight, cops were called and neither had charges filed against them.) I was on top when the cops showed up.

Sometimes It's Better To Be # 2

Send me to the moon -
Do you think I would care?
Send me to the Russian front,
If you dare...
        Send me away,
To keep you from harm -
        Send me to a place,
They call the funny farm.

        I don't give a DAMN !!
I can escape from here,
Then, I'll be back in your face,
 To bring you more cheer.

        I'm still inside, PAL !!
But, I'm getting out.
        It won't be long,  Before,
I right my wrong -
        And thats a GUARANTEE,
with-out a doubt.

        When I get out,
Who do you think I will hunt?
         I will hunt you,  Because,
You are a sniveling little PUNK !

         I will find YOU, -
And DEATH, It will be -
         Because:
  You thought,"You were number 1",
         But,
YOU DIDN'T COUNT ME !!

wow, I'm scared of you! LOL I liked the flow of this. It's dark, too. I like dark.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
