    Speak a word

    speak a word
    say a name
    light a candle
    spark a flame
in the dead of the night
    when the moon rises
    out of the embers
    the time is right
    take the path
to the edge of the ocean
    say a prayer
to the gods of the seas
wait for the hint of a whisper
    upon the breeze..............
    I would journey cross deserts
    to kiss him
every night by the light of the moon
I would follow this lingering hunger
    and my lover knew................
    ...........just a dream you know
    I lost my...............fucking!! mind
    so long ago
    on a winters night
    under stormy skies
    in my lovers eyes..............mesmerized
    now i'm here alone
    upon the floor.............evermore

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
