THE DARKNESS

Dark as the darkest night is bright my mind and body has become, and even though the darkness continues to fill my lungs I continue to breath deep hoping to get my last breath in before the darkness consumes me.
Reaching out for something to grab onto, I continue to struggle to stay breathing for just a moment longer, while the darkness creeps over me unstoppable, unrelenting.
Just as my head is about to be completely covered who is this? a hand? And why? have they come to save me or condemn me?
As this new hope arises I feel them grabbing on to my reaching hand and for a second of hope, warm embrace, and a new found love they let go and I'm no longer able to hold on and for what was is no more only darkness.

i really like this poem. i think in live we all struggel with some kind of "darkness" and the big question is then, do we have enough people around us, that would help us out and i think its sad but true, today there arent many people out there anymo

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
