The Door

Yesterday, I opened the door to the world, and I realized that I’m still a fucked up little girl

Parading around town like a woman who has her shit together
Living life as if I’m going to have it forever

I want to be different and still remain the same
I’m so tired of the panic attacks and feeling like I’m going insane

I opened up that door today and I realized that I am different and I’m also the same
I’ve conquered a lot of my demons, but there are still a few that bring me pain

I opened up that door and I saw the world moving at record speed
Then I saw myself standing still, trying to figure out what it is that I need

When I closed the door and looked down, I saw a boarding pass with a note that read:
Here’s a ticket to ride life’s train
I won’t force you to ride, but if you open this door again and don’t board, it would be a shame
All that your heart desires you will find during this trip
And if at anytime it’s moving too fast, don’t worry, I can change the speeding train to a coasting ship
And when you need to coast, don’t think of it as something odd
Just understand that I only want the very best for you, I’ll always have your back…

Love Always, God

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
