THE FUNERAL

What are the thoughts of those who came to say good-bye?

We came, and we paid our respects; we listened to the pastor

as he preached about the past and the presennt. You are sitting

in church, and you're wondering, what am i to say? What can you

sayas you sit there in deep thought? When you look at those who have

passed on, the time comes for you to rise and say your last good-bye.

You walk down the aisle, thinking to yourself, what can I say?

Then you are there looking down at the shell of a life that was.

Then the rushes of memories come so fast, and the tears rush from

your eyes like a floodgate that was left open to flow freely.

Then you're looking at that person, and for a moment, you stop;

its like slow motion, and then you think to yourself, is this going to

be me when my time comes? All one can do is prepare for his or her

final days of life in this world of ours.

The most important thing in one's life is to make peace with self and

accept the role God has set forth for us to follow.

When that times comes, will you be ready? That is the question, my

friend; will you?

Very-thought provoking, definitely.. I like the last four lines especially.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
