THE INDIAN WITHIN

There once I was back when,
Where the end of infinity began,
As a boy I ran
Into a place where I found the indian within.
The indian is an enemy,
He is my friend,
He is a tortured soul,
He is a fighter,
He is the spirit of a hawk
That soars above, into and around
  The clouds of my mind,
With the wind, aware of and
Clinging to a past life and time
    Place, frequency and wonder.

I fly aside the indian within.

The indian within rests underground so to speak,
Deep beneath the innermost hidden places
Inside my essence of self,
Where the third eye never closes and never sleeps,
The indian within sometimes
he shows me my dreams,
You wouldn't believe some of the things that
Me and this indian have seen
On this journey through a darker side of things,
On this trail of tears.

I fly aside the indian within.

There twice in my life,
Where the end of infinity began,
As a man I ran,
Into a place where I found the indian within.

The indian is an enemy,
He is my friend,
He is the spirit of a phoenix,
With wings of fire that burn and soar
Above, into and around the clouds of my mind.

I fly aside the indian within.
