    The Mirror

    I looked into a mirror
To see what I would see
Only to find that there is nothing there
    Nothing looking back at me
    No mischievous smile
    No sparkle in my eye
    No glowing complexion
    To show that Iam alive
    I sat and I wondered
    I thought and pondered
    Was there is there
    Something wrong with me
I smiled when I was happy
I smiled when I was sad
Just to make others around me
    Not to feel so bad
    The emptiness in the mirror
    I reached out to see
    Maybe I could feel something
    Instead of not seeing me
    It is a darkness
    That cant be described
    When even yourself
Your own looks you have denied.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
