'THE NEW MOON AND THE RISEN SUN IN AFRICA”
Before western civilization and it’s calendar, Africans relied on the MOON for her market days and farming seasons, and as their guide to calculate their days, ages, and duration of time. The moon usually start in a crescent and go to full moon in what was call the traditional month. So it was that in addition to using the moon for calculation purposes, whenever an individual looked up at the sky and saw a fresh crescent for the first time, he is, like, hurry!! a new month has begun. How beautiful it was, how wonderful it was!! Mmm!! Just woke up! Knowing nothing about watch I just stretch up and say “SUN rise is 6 O clock am” how scientific it was. Mama AFRICA, we say we love to be part of your children.
