    The Shadows

There are things in the night,
    That cannot be exlained,
    And if you go searching,
    You will become insane.
    Late in the darkness,
    When you are fast asleep,
    And having your sweet dreams,
    That's when the shadows creep.
I don't know where they come from,
    But they're darker then dark,
    They turn dreams into nightmares,
    And will blacken your heart.

Some call them the Raven Mockers,
    Others the Ginn,
    And some say they're Demons,
    Then some say Hat Man.
    These are the Shadow People,
    And are something to fear,
Because they are all around you,
And you'll never know they're near.

    They don't want your body,
    Only you soul,
    So please hear my warning,
    Beware the Shadows.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
