This Is Not A Poem
This Is Not A Poem
by Brianlion
To tell the truth
Truth be told,
I always want to hear the truth.
So please don't qualify a statement with
To tell the truth.
Honestly, I hate that.
In the long run,
I choose not to run.
I choose not to run long.
I may walk or jog quickly.
Quick but don't hurry.
That is best...in the long run
I stayed in a Bed and Breakfast once.
I would have been just as content
With a chair and a sandwich.
Brian's Chair and A Sandwich
Doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
Now I'm hungry...and sleepy.
Announcers say it every game.
After a athlete makes a error or bad play.
"He'd like to have that one back."
Really? You mean he didn't mean to throw
the interception that cost his team the game?
Where do I sign up to call the next game?
How many times do you tell someone bad news,
They reply with, "Are you kidding me? "
Yes, I'm joking.
My mother in law did not really get hit by a bus..
I didn't really get fired.
Jerry Seinfeld has nothing on me.
Someone showed me a picture of themselves.
They said, "This is me when I was younger."
I'm glad they told me that.
I thought they had developed a new camera.
Take pictures from the future.
New technology... I can't keep up.
People come up to me all the time.
They ask me,
Do people really come up to you all the time?
I say "yes".
They say, are you kidding me?
I say, "I'd like to have that one back".
