Time
It glistened on my nose.
As it ran down my face,
It would smear the makeup I wasn't wearing,
Time seemed to stand still in this place,
for just this moment;
I felt as ease.
I did not run for cover,
This was my time.
The flash of lights lit up the darkening sky
As the grey rock slowly turned to black,
It darkened everything
Except my soul.
It swooped down and carried me on its back.
My hair stuck to my face lining my cheeks.
A smile came across my face,
No one could take it away.
It was mine.
I flet at peace,
Relaxed when the rest of the world turned for shelter.
Funny how I felt so at ease,
I was happy in a time when most would say it was dreary.
But this was my time.
The world has stopped just for me.
This was my moment
When in time I felt at peace
One with the earth,
Standing next to that rock,
Imagining I was alone
Time had ended, but I had not
As I stood in this spot,
I was at home.
I was in my own time.
As it ran down my face,
It would smear the makeup I wasn't wearing,
Time seemed to stand still in this place,
for just this moment;
I felt as ease.
I did not run for cover,
This was my time.
The flash of lights lit up the darkening sky
As the grey rock slowly turned to black,
It darkened everything
Except my soul.
It swooped down and carried me on its back.
My hair stuck to my face lining my cheeks.
A smile came across my face,
No one could take it away.
It was mine.
I flet at peace,
Relaxed when the rest of the world turned for shelter.
Funny how I felt so at ease,
I was happy in a time when most would say it was dreary.
But this was my time.
The world has stopped just for me.
This was my moment
When in time I felt at peace
One with the earth,
Standing next to that rock,
Imagining I was alone
Time had ended, but I had not
As I stood in this spot,
I was at home.
I was in my own time.
