    Uncertain Love

    Uncertain Love

Questions burn like the raging wind
Rolling across our minds over and over again
What happened we ask to us way back then
How we ask ourselves did our love grown uncertain
We were young we suppose and lacked understanding
Even though we had pledged a love everlasting
Our feelings raw and real, our intentions true and pure
Yet doubt crept in and we became unsure
Fear and insecurity clouded our vision
Hearts torn to pieces, our oneness was broken
    Runaway emotions caused our division
Sweet innocence soured as our love turned uncertain
We questioned ourselves then just like we do now
Wondering why, when and yes, even how
How would we make it we tried to comprehend
Battling the forces that turned our love uncertain
Time passed on as it waits for no one
New paths were forged, new stepping stones
We boxed and packed away portions of our hearts
Life compelled us to get up and make a fresh start
Love would come again in new shapes and faces
As we attempted to bury the old love traces
But a three fold chord can never be broken
Even when love is secret and unspoken
Purpose has joined our paths once again
That we might heal, forgive and erase the pain
You’re a part of me and I a part of you
Today we know it to be sincere and true
    It’s a new season, it’s a new day
No longer need we wonder why we feel this way
    No longer do we wonder
    No longer do we question
For what we once thought eluded us
    Is no longer an elusion
I realize now it is a divine connection
    Love
    True Love
    God given love
    Not a love uncertain
    Love that is patient
    Love that is kind
God given love for the rest of our lives
I thank God for you and the love that we share
Love deeply rooted and I believe rare
Thank you for loving me as no one else has
Just as much today as in the days past
For looking beyond my flaws and loving me for me
For being my friend completely and unconditionally.

This was beautifully expressed. A pleasure to read.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
