FORGIVE ME IF I AM NOT WHAT YOU SAW ME TO BE. THE PIECES OF MY LIFE THAT ARE NOT YET CONNECTED RESTRICT ME FROM COMPLETION, YET I STRIVE TO BE WHOLE, FINISHED. THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL I BE ABLE TO COMPLETE US. MY PATH IS TAMPERED BUT MY REWARD IS TO GREAT, TO BE FALTERED WOULD MEAN A LACK OF FAITH. FAITH IN US, THE LORD AND THIS UNION. FORGIVE ME IF I AM NOT WHAT YOU SAW ME TO BE, BUT IN TIME I WILL BE WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU SEEN.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
