    Poem Commentary

    I have written many poems but have never put them in a book, that is my goal.  Steelrider

    Once in a Lifetime a true Love comes along;
    to stand any storm, the weak and the strong.
    I knew when I saw you, that you were the one;
    I'd live with Forever, a new life begun.

    Through heartaches and sorrow, good times, and fun;
    We stood it together, not as two, but as one.
    The years have sped by, our youth now is gone;
    Our Love is so strong now, our Friendships our bond.

    The Autumn of our lives come creeping in;
    Our memories cause us, to frown and to grin.
    With wolves at the door and storms all around;
    We stood side by side, and never gave ground.

    So whatever may lie in our path down the road;
    We'll face it together, until we're too old.
    I hope when we leave, this world far behind;
    We do it together, Forever, side by side.

    I wrote this in hope of expressing how I have always felt about my Wife and me.  The Love we share comes along once in a Lifetime, my only regret was it took us so long to find each other.

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
