Vision

I can only imagine. What will I do when I behold your face? As your glorious light radiates through me. I can only imagine what I would do.

To be able to stand before you, to inhale your sweet fragrance, to peer into everlasting love. How will I handle it? How do I prepare myself?

Until that great day I will glorify you on this earth. Before you part the sky, I will proclaim to every soul how good you are. I will seek you in all that I do. I will pursue you.

My soul longs for you because you are the source of my existence. I want my life to please you. I want to hear well done when we do meet face to face.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
