Wandering Soul

She's so gorgeous
Yet all alone
The classic syndrome
That goes unknown
Untold until the gravestone is shown

How she got there,
No one knows

Still, she glows
Near or far, wherever you are
You can feel her presence
Its of precious essence

The man she adores
Truly loves whores
Or maybe it's the demons she fights
Those relentless creatures
that lurk beneath her

Lost in an interim reality
She looses grip with her only love, its fatality
The demise of her soul
Her eyes scream loud
"I just want to make you proud"

She's so gorgeous
Yet all alone
Please let the love fill her, before she turns to stone

How she got there
No one know will ever know

Its fine writing with kindness for someone and love.

I enjoyed this poem. It sounds like the downward spiral that oh too many succumb to. Falling in love with someone we know is not right for us, but too afraid to leave. Sometimes the closer to someone we are in proximity the farther we are from them emotionally, but we just too afraid to admit it.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
