Wishing Star

  • February 5th, Friday morning, purple dawn... A moment like a poem, you wish you could hold it... I shut my eyes like it's frozen... it's gone when I open...

Wishing Star

The world was dark before she walked in.

She brightened everything.

Illuminating my life; She casted shadows on my imperfections.

I tell you she shined like the Sun.

Golden morning’s burn into my memory...

More like a comet; she has slipped away from me.

I never understood her; her mind like another dimension.

The day I met her, the way she flew around me...

I knew time with her was fleeting.

She was free; something that couldn't be tamed...

But she wanted me, and that was enough.

I belonged to her if anything; I held her too tightly.

I never told her she would be able to break me.

I couldn't trust something with that much power.

I took for granted, my beautiful Sun.

Her absence louder than every word she'd ever spoken...

My Love, my Sun, gone as fast as I let her in...

Her soft warnings haunt me.

There was none before her, and nothing after.

I drift automatically, away from her gravity.

I can't fight the darkness knowing what I'm missing...

The center of my Universe is gone.

My Love, my Sun, now just a distant star...

I'll wish on her until she hears my heart.

im having a difficult time deciding if you are actually talking about our sun, or something else, either way its a beautiful portrayal of love and admiration, affection and nastalgia. VERY well done, kudos

im talkin about a person :) that they were like the sun.. its like when you meet someone.. and unknowingly they become the center of ur universe.. thank you again.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
